Star ratings: 1 to 5, including half stars
Each award tier may carry a separate star score from 1.0 to 5.0, in increments of 0.5. For example, a business could receive Bronze 4.5 stars, Silver 4 stars or Gold 5 stars. The tier reflects the standard achieved; the stars distinguish performance within that tier. Applying does not guarantee any particular tier, score or award.
Application and assessment fee
£800
Standard application feeThe £800 application and assessment fee is non-refundable. It covers the time and work involved in examining the application, reviewing supporting evidence and assessing the business against our published standards.
Payment does not guarantee an award or a particular rating. Applicants should obtain confirmation of the applicable fee and payment instructions from the application team before paying.
Can the fee be reduced or waived?
Yes. In exceptional circumstances, we may consider a partial reduction or a full waiver of the application fee. Concessions are discretionary and are not guaranteed.
If you would like a concession, explain your circumstances and why you are requesting it in your initial application email. You can request a reduced fee or a complete waiver. We will consider the request as part of the initial correspondence.

Explain why you are applying
Tell us what makes your customer service, workmanship or technical approach worthy of recognition. Where possible, reference case studies, customer feedback, example projects or other relevant evidence.
Request a fee concession, if needed
If you are seeking a partial discount or full waiver, state this clearly and explain your reasons in the same email.

What happens after you apply?
Our team can review your initial information, discuss any requested fee concession and explain what supporting evidence may be needed. Assessment is based on the published award criteria and the information available for review. The final award tier and star rating, if awarded, are determined through that assessment.
Important: These are awards issued by Security Safety Reviewer under its own assessment standards. They are not government licences, regulatory approvals or manufacturer accreditations. An application or payment does not guarantee recognition.
